Best Transponder Frequencies

What's the best transponder frequencies for checking dish alignment in Ireland?
Another group suggested I try CNN 11670 H, 23000 dvb-s2 2/3 8PSK and that's coming in fine but I'm not scanning as many channels as I suspect I should be.
I'm trying to set up Sky Ireland and Freesat UK.

How many channels are you getting?

what size dish and satellite receiver are you using ??
bear in mind Sky UK/Ireland on 28.2E do frequently change Symbol Rates quite often
so you need to ensure you are checking flysat regular for up to date changes
Here => FLYSAT 28.2°E EAST

Strongest Transponder on 28.2E 10935 V 23000 DVB-S2 8PSK FEC 3/4 - 20db Signal - Channel 4 UK HD
Weakest Transponder on 28.2E 12090 V 29500 DVB-S2 QPSK FEC 8/9 - 14.3db Signal - Sky News Ireland

Have you tried doing a Blind Scan on your sat box ??
or are u just using a Sky Box if so which box ???
have you checked the dish for both clear line of sight and any Visible obstructions like trees blocking dish signals ?
Any Dect Phones present those are usually really good for picture Pixelation and reduced signals .
on a blind scan of 28.2 East you should be picking up 569 Channels if that is not the case then your dish is not aligned very well at all or your LNB Skew is not adjusted correctly .
Posting at least Some information would be very helpful if you can post back here again .....

Good luck !!

We are missing vital bits of information. 1. Are you not receiving channels that you watch and what are they? 2. Do you know how many channels you should be receiving? eg( I suspect it will rain soon) 3. Are you aware when on a channel arrow up and press the red button it will show all the channels you have scanned in.

Have you heard of kingofsat? If you go there it will list all the channels on the ASTRA satellites either in total, or Free To air, or encrypted, by language, by beam. at the moment its says 345 FTA and 769 in total.

You can do a manual scan for all first and when finished it should show you how many found inc radio. Then do a fta scan and compare with kingofsat.

But realistically most are rubbish and you only need the ones you watch added to favourites = job done.

Out of curiosity why use sky ireland and freesat??

Morning.
60cm dish and Zgemma h7s.
Line of sight is perfect,no obstructions.
Not getting anything on CH4 HD and Sky News IRL frequencies.
Bind scan found 34 transponders ,service scan found 705 channels(inc. Saorview),alot more than it did yesterday.
Think the dish could be off or does that sound ok?

Thanks for info.
Going to forget about SkyIreland.

Its unlikely to be the dish and more than likely the lnb, at least we know now where the problem is. CH4 HD has more than one frequency and very strong. Sky Ireland although weak is still strong on a 60cm dish. Can you reach the dish?

Can you use signal finder and try tuner B? And just try this go to channel 4 hd and arrow up see if other regions of CH4 can be received. As for sky news use UK version unless you like irish ads.

Is it a quad lnb ie 4 outputs try another one .

I can access the dish from a ladder ,yes.
I have a new Octo lnb somewhere, might be an opportune time to swap out the Quad.
No particular love for the Irish ads on Sky news.
I'll check out those tips and report back.Thanks.
