Moving away from firestick

Hi folks always been a firestick user they have done me fine over the years. Looking to move away from them going forward what's folks recommendations don't mind spending a few quid for something that will last.

Thanks

Don't think you can beat the firestick for the price. Pretty solid also. The latest one with os8 on is rapid. Well mine is anyway. Done one of them xomia sticks the other day. Wasent fussed on it really. I've got a 4k max and a 3rd gen fire TV box, and sticking with the 👍

I suppose it depends what you want to use on it. Do you need all images codecs DV HDR. Do you need lossless audio and do you need full audio pass through.
If you need a certified device the Homatics r 4k is decent.
If you don’t need a certified device then Ugoos sk1 or am8 pro are decent.
If you can get hold on one from the US or CA then the Onn pro and plus are decent for the money.
If you don’t need DV then the Formuler pro max is decent also.

I recently moved from Firestick to the Roku Streaming Stick 4K and it’s been a great upgrade—faster, more stable, and the UI feels smoother. If you’re into Android stuff, the NVIDIA Shield is solid too, but a bit pricey. Just depends what features you’re after.

The Homatics Box R 4k Plus gets a solid following. Wont break the bank and is Google certified.
I've got one of those Homatics Box R 4k Plus and using it at the moment its a great little box. It can also take a usb c satellite tuner input too. I think i got mine for about £51.00. I even run a 4.2.2 satellite feed through it the other night. I did not handle it well but it did play it :)

Great price that. Seen a lot mention they are a worthy Google certified box.

I'd try one myself but ive that many Android boxes in starting to think im a hoarder and need counselling 🤣

I've got mine under the TV and the Nvidia is not plugged in. I think they are nearly the same speed. I got mine to try and stop a fault of audio drop though my sound bar. Unfortunately it's the same on Nvidia and homematics but I have not plugged the shield back in since getting this box.

Never heard of the Homatics R 4k but it's one I might get in the future, my main TVs use the shield pro which is amazing that it still receives updates.
