Service type on Python 3

My provider has advised too upgrade to Python 3 (Openvix 6.7.007)and switch to Service Type 1, stating Python 3 only works on service type 1. When I do this I lose all EPG info including bouquets, switching back to 4097, all the info is there.
Both service types play perfectly fine.

Are they correct regarding Pyhton 3 and service type 1?

they are talking rubbish.
with reguards to service type, but upgrading to python 3 could be because older plugins may not be supported or updated.
