Op can use all these facilities without paying...

No forum allows new members to attach images/files to direct messages. As default it is switched off for new members in all installations. it can cause a lot of unnecessary storage on the server that members use without ever posting on the forum. It's given to users that contribute to the forum.

We've always had it set so that users with 100+ posts across the forum, can use that facility. Or you can pay to use it. Storage costs money..

It makes those that never contribute "on" the forum, contribute in another way. Especially those that make money using that facility.
